ABSTRACT
In osteoarthritis treatment, chondroprotectors are prescribed, the purpose of which is to stop the destruction of the cartilage structure during the progression of the disease. But not all drugs that belong to the chondroprotectors group have the proper qualities: there is a standardized active substance in the composition, there are studies to evaluate pharmacokinetics, there is a valid code in the anatomical-therapeutic-chemical classification of the WHO (at Dec 27,2024), medicinal product has both symptomatic and structurally modifying effects, only a long course is effective. therapy. Standardized active substance include chondroitin sulfate: it has a standardized active substance, studied pharmacokinetics, is present in the international classification of anatomical-therapeutic-chemical, and has a high level of proven efficacy with prolonged use due to its symptomatic and structural effects.
